So I figure there's two main ways of living life and trying new things:
1) Collect research and learn about the topic before risking your neck doing it
or
2) Living life like a maniac.

Now, personally, I prefer the maniac life.
It's awesome.
However, there are many other times in life, where knowing before doing is a must.

Making a band? ...Not such a must...
But even so! Researching couldn't help!
... So I've been going to concerts! Hey, it's the best research I can think of.

My research:
Honda Civic Concert featuring: Panic at the Disco, The Hush Sound, Phantom Planet, and Motion City Soundtrack - Went for a birthday party, and had an awesome time! Panic was cool, loved Hush Sound, could feel Motion City's drums through my collarbone!, and Phantom had a really cool sound.
Weezer Concert featuring: Weezer, Tokyo Police Club, and Angels and Airwaves - Went with friends to the Cox Arena in San Diego, had a great time listening to the awesome singer of Tokyo Police, super entertaining Angels, and coolest songs from Weezer.
Local All-Ages Concerts at the Epicenter: Headlining The Demeanors, Headlining Under His Shadow - Had a great time listening to ska (Demeanors) and rock/rap (Shadow) from bands my age. Went once with my girlfriend as well as once by myself :)

The Quest...

Now that I knew my mission, I decided to do whatever I could to complete it.

However, making a band is a tricky business. First, you need to find the band members, then find a place to play, then make sure all that has permission to be in existence... then you have to write music, make that good, then present it to the public.

My first problem? People. I waited for three years for a chance to find actual musicians who were committed to starting a band with me and making music... and I finally found it. Highschool.
Elementary and Middle school definitely showed no results, so I decided to wait for the better batches... now I just need to find them amongst all the losers...

However, all this takes time. The same time that is and will forever be corrupted and blatantly devoured by math homework. But what can anyone do about it?
Nothing.
It's a forsaken fact. Academics and band-making don't mix.
I can only hope that in between all the Geometry and English that I can rope in a good singer and a guitarist... and possibly a girl drummer... if I can find one...

As time went by, my bass skills steadily increased - slowly, but surely. I began to realize that, although the Red Hot Chili Peppers' riffs aren't exactly easy yet, Metallica and Alice in Chains had become manageable.

Years passed, and as Richard led me through the passage of Rock, I started to shred...

It was then that the quest to become an awesome rocker was clear... my next step?
...Creating a band...

In the Beginning...

I was but 10 years of age when it all started. I had no idea what was to become of me... I just wanted to start a simple band. When I purchased my Switch short-scale Bass guitar, however, I didn't realize what an awesome instrument I had in my possession...until...I met Richard.

It was then that I discovered Richard Welty...the ultimate mentor of Rock. It is rumored that he is classically trained by some high brow academy, only to have the ultimate Rock experience of being hit in the head by a well-aimed beer bottle on stage during a very eccentric performance dash his would-be hopes of becoming a renowned classical Bassist.

But not only does Richard Welty rip on the Bass, but he is also masterful in the many ways of the Guitar! He introduced me to the wonders of Rock, as well as helped me unlock many of the unknown secrets of rock...
